Agriculture contributes significantly to incomes and food choices. Therefore, investments in agriculture could play a vital role in poverty alleviation and improvement of food and nutrition security.
Since 2017, the Government of Kenya has held a national conference that serves as a thought leadership event on agri-nutrition.
The 3rd Annual National Agrinutrition Conference was held on September 24th -26th 2019 under the “Enhancing Multisectoral Agri-Nutrition Approaches for Improved Nutrition Outcomes in Kenya”.
The aim of the conference was to contribute to global efforts to address malnutrition through agriculture. The event provided a platform for experience sharing and learning on practical national and county actions, programme and policy interventions that have contributed to addressing malnutrition in Kenya.
The conference was organized by the Food and Nutrition Linkages Technical Working Group of the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and implementing partners.
